About This Project

From conceptualization to construction, I meticulously oversaw every facet of this new project. Balancing our budget, we achieved a rare fusion of splurges and savings. Strategic investments in wide plank white oak flooring with a water-based stain create a light and airy ambiance upon entering. The industrial range hood, a noteworthy splurge, has become a standout feature, often praised for its value.

While we indulged in the elegance of quartzite kitchen countertops and striking wallpaper, we maintained fiscal responsibility with timeless white shaker vanities, large format subway tiles, and matte black cabinet hardware. Consistency prevailed as we applied the same paint color to the kitchen island, front door, and the powder room batten board.

A notable feature is the 10' basement ceilings, facilitating concealed mechanicals and ductwork for a basement that defies its typical feel. Future-proofing, whether for a potential golf simulator room or a kids' jungle gym, was integral to our design.

Another notable feature that can have some controversy surrounding it, was to create a double vanity setup with only one sink in the on suite bathroom. The decision ultimately came down to have the space will actually be used. In this case, the husband and wife rarely use their bathroom sink at the same time. Instead, countertop space and a designated area, mirror and light would be better used as a makeup station. It is very important to dive into how people use their spaces and not just force a common design concept that adds cost and doesn’t actually add any improved functionality in the daily lives of the homeowners.

My design ethos centers on timeless choices, incorporating contemporary elements that can easily evolve with changing trends. This philosophy resonates throughout this design and construction endeavor.
